Wolfgang Waitkus

Wolfgang Waitkus is a German Egyptologist .

Life

After graduating as Dr. phil. In 1991 and his habilitation in 2003 in Hamburg , he became a private lecturer in Egyptology in 2003 and professor (§ 17 HmbHG) in Egyptology in 2008 . He was the head of the Edfu project in the program of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen . The aim of the project was to create a reliable complete translation of the ancient Egyptian inscriptions of the Temple of Edfu in Upper Egypt .
