Wolfgang Weirer

Wolfgang Weirer (* 1963 in Graz ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian and teacher .

Life

Weirer studied Roman Catholic theology and education . From 1989 to 1992 Weirer was a teacher for religious education at a grammar school in Graz. Since 2004 he has been a professor for catechetics and religious education at the University of Graz . Weirer is married and has four children.

Research priorities

Since 2009, Weirer has been responsible for the editorial management of the Austrian religious education specialist journal “Österreichisches Religionspädagogisches Forum”, which he has developed into an open access journal with a peer review process since 2013.

Since 2013 he has been leading the FWF project “Narratological Exegesis and Subject-Oriented Biblical Didactics” together with Josef Pichler .
