Wolfgang Werner (born November 11, 1949 in Neviges ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From June 2nd, 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Werner graduated from school in 1966 with the secondary school leaving certificate and in 1969 obtained the advanced technical college entrance qualification . In the period from 1966 to 1969 he completed an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic. From 1971 to 1975 he studied automation technology at the comprehensive university in Wuppertal , which he left in 1975 as a graduate engineer. He then studied economics and education for teaching at vocational schools at the University of Bochum . He passed the first state examination in 1979. After passing this he worked until 2000 as a vocational school teacher at the Niederberg vocational college. As director of studies, he was responsible for the technical college and new technologies.

Werner joined the SPD in 1969, for which he first moved in 1975 to the city council of Velbert and in which he was until 1982. In 1989 he moved back to the council and is there to this day. From 2004 to 2009 he was chairman of the special building committee for the renovation of Hardenberg Castle . He was also the second deputy mayor of Velbert. Werner has also been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group since 2000. From 2000 to 2005 Werner was also represented for the SPD in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. He was directly elected in constituency 044 Mettmann IV .
