Wolfgang Winkelhues

Wolfgang Winkelhues (born August 28, 1947 ) is the state trainer for dressage riders in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Winkelhues won 15 advanced (S) victories and 150 placements in dressage tests up to Grand Prix in the eighties.

Winkelhues was trained by riding master Robert Schmidtke and was awarded the Golden Riding Badge in 1983 and the St. Georgs Plaque in 1986 for outstanding achievements in equestrian sport. He also operates the Riegel facility in Bonn-Hardtberg, a performance base of the Rhineland Equestrian Association , where u. a. the international dressage tournament European Youngster Classics Bonn is held. One focus is the training of young riders.

His daughter Katharina is also successful as a dressage rider.
