Wolfgang Wittkowsky

Wolfgang Wittkowsky (born July 15, 1933 in Bad Dürkheim ; † July 6, 2013 in Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

Wittkowsky was a teacher at the Traben-Trarbach grammar school for many years . This also flowed into his political activities, in which he rendered services to educational policy and the development of universities. He was also involved in many voluntary functions.

Wittkowsky's political career began in the Traben-Trarbach city ​​council , of which he was a member from 1969 to 1989. There he held the office of chairman of the CDU parliamentary group for a number of years. In 1970 he was elected third district deputy of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district, in 1974 he was promoted to the first district deputy, a post he held until 1989. After that he was a member of the district council and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there until 1994. For several years he was deputy chairman of the administrative board of the Kreissparkasse Bernkastel-Wittlich .

In addition, he took on a number of important functions in the CDU, for example as chairman of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district association and deputy chairman of the Trier district association .

From 1979 to 1996 Wittkowsky was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . Most recently he was directly elected in the Wittlich constituency. There he belonged to various committees and the council of elders. From 1990 to 1994 he was the parliamentary manager of the CDU parliamentary group.
