Wolfgang Wulf (* 12. August 1951 in Oldenburg (Oldenburg) ) is a German SPD - politician and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He is married with one child and one grandchild.

Professional background

After graduating from high school, Wolfgang Wulf studied at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from 1971 to teach at primary and secondary schools. In 1979 he passed the second state examination at the Börgermoor school in Emsland (Lower Saxony). After that he was in the 80s a. a. active as a freelance lecturer in adult education, as a full-time teacher at the Volkshochschule Oldenburg and as a research assistant at the University of Oldenburg. In 1989 he acquired the academic degree of Diplom-Pädagoge and then headed the Halle (Saale) office in Saxony-Anhalt from 1990 to 1993 for the educational association work and life - a study facility of the DGB . From 1994 to 2013 Wulf was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Political career

Wolfgang Wulf joined the SPD in 1968 at the age of 16. From 1968 to 1971 he was also with the Young European Federalists (JEF), the youth organization of the non-partisan European Union, deputy state chairman of Lower Saxony and a member of the federal committee. At that time he was also a member of the Oldenburg district board of the Europa-Union.

During his studies from 1971 onwards, Wulf was a member of the Left Social Democratic Socialist University Association (SHB), of which he was deputy federal chairman from 1973 to 1975. From 1976 to 1977 he was spokesman for the General Student Committee (AStA) at Oldenburg University and a student member of the academic senate.

From 1977 to 1981 Wolfgang Wulf was a member of the Weser-Ems district board of the Young Socialists in the SPD and temporarily represented the Juso district in the federal committee of the Jusos. From 1978 he held positions in the local association boards of the Oldenburg SPD. From 1984 he was a member of the sub-district executive committee of the Oldenburg SPD. From 1994 to 2001 he held the position of deputy chairman there. From 2001 to 2009 Wulf was finally chairman of the SPD in the city of Oldenburg. In addition, from 2003 to 2005 he was a member of the state board of the SPD Lower Saxony and from 2005 to 2008 its spokesman for education policy; in this function he was a co-opted member of the SPD state executive.

Wolfgang Wulf was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1994 to 2013. He was a member of the Committee on Science and Culture the whole time, of which he was also chairman from 2008 to 2013. He was also a member of the Culture Committee for three legislative periods and at times also a member of the Presidium of the State Parliament. From 2008 to 2013 he was also a member of the Committee on Federal and European Affairs and the Media. From 1998 to 2013 Wulf was adult education policy spokesman for the Lower Saxony SPD parliamentary group and from 2001 to 2003 its school policy spokesperson. In the state election in 2013 , he did not appear again.

Further memberships

Wolfgang Wulf is a member of the GEW and the AWO . At the AWO he is a member of the Weser-Ems district board. He is also a member of the general assembly of the Lower Saxony State Media Authority (NLM) for the Lower Saxony citizens' broadcasters. At the Oldenburg local broadcaster Oeins , he moderates the monthly television program LokalLesung, in which he introduces regional authors. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Horst Janssen Museum Oldenburg, deputy chairman of the sponsoring association for the Oldenburg job sponsorship project and chairman of the advisory board of the Oldenburg library society.
