Wolfra is a German beverage manufacturer based in Erding . Wolfra is also a fruit juice brand.

Company history

Wolfra was founded in 1930 as a cooperative by the district horticultural consultant Andreas Stumpf in Wolfratshausen ; the company name was derived from the place name. When developing the aseptic storage of sweet cider, Andreas Stumpf consulted the nutritionist Maximilian Oskar Bircher-Benner in Zurich. In the founding year 1930, 7,700 liters of sweet cider were sold, in 1939 it was two million liters.

During the Nazi era, Stumpf was known as an opponent of the party and could only save his company with cunning. In 1941 the company moved to Munich Obersendling on Baierbrunner Strasse.

In 1975 Wolfra was taken over by the Riemerschmid Group . In 1984 Riemerschmid moved to Erding with Wolfra. In 1987 Wolfra was separated from Riemerschmid again; To this day, the headquarters of both companies are right next to each other. The company property has a size of 45,000 m².

In 1991 the owner Heinrich Riemerschmid (* 1918), the son of Robert Riemerschmid, died . The family decided to sell the company; Riemerschmid and Wolfra were on the verge of bankruptcy. Wolfra was finally bought by Valensina , Riemerschmid went to Underberg in 1996 . Valensina has been part of Sportfit Fruchtsaft since 2001 .

In 2018, around 3,000 tons of apples were pressed into 2.3 million liters of apple juice; the range includes over 50 types of juice.
