Führer Headquarters Wolfsschlucht 2
Wolfsschlucht 2 was a Führer headquarters in Margival , ten kilometers north of Soissons , in Picardy , northern France. This is one of a total of 18 Führer headquarters that were built during the Second World War , some of which were unfinished.
There is a railway tunnel nearby. Planned for Operation Sea Lion , construction did not actually begin until 1942. Hitler stayed here for only two days: on June 16 and 17, 1944, with Rommel and von Rundstedt to review the situation on the front after the Allies landed in Normandy to discuss.
The site has served as a military base for the French army and NATO since the war .
