Uwe Böning (born December 7, 1947 in Zittau ) is a German business coach , management consultant and author . He is considered one of the pioneers of business coaching in Germany and has a decisive influence on research, practice, association work and training in the field of coaching.

Life

After graduating from high school , Böning studied psychology , philosophy and sociology at the University of Mainz and graduated with a diploma in psychology.

After completing his studies, Böning worked from 1974 as a clinical psychologist / psychological psychotherapist in his own practice and at the same time worked as a research assistant at the University of Mainz in a research project. From 1979 he worked as a management trainer for two Munich consulting firms. He has been working as a management consultant and coach since 1985, now exclusively at top and senior management level. In 1985, together with Brigitte Fritschle, he founded the Böning-Team , today the management consultancy Böning-Consult , in Frankfurt am Main and is one of the company's two managing partners. From 1992 to 1995, Böning was also Director Human Resources at Bosch-Siemens Hausgeräte (B / S / H) in Munich .

Together with Brigitte Fritschle and Jörg Wirtgen, Böning is one of the founders of the European Coaching Company (ECC) , which has been offering training as an international business coach since 2005 . He is also the initiator and co-founder of the German Federal Coaching Association (DBVC) together with Christopher Rauen . From 2004 to 2006 he was chairman of the board of the DBVC.

Böning deals scientifically with personality traits of executives in Germany (top, senior and middle management) as well as with the success measurement of coaching. He was a lecturer at the University of Osnabrück and the University of Freiburg and was a guest lecturer on coaching and leadership topics, among others. a. at Bielefeld University , Mannheim Business School (MBS) and INSEAD . With Siegfried Greif and Brigitte Fritschle, Böning is one of the initiators and organizers of the Ekeberger Coaching Days . The Ekeberger Coaching Days have been an annual specialist conference on current topics in the coaching industry that has been held since 2008 and serves to further professionalise the subject through the exchange of science and practice . Together with Brigitte Fritschle, Frank and Heidrun Strikker and Christine Kaul, Böning initiated the Coaching Globe , an internet-based platform for practitioners, scientists, publicists and interested parties and is the author of specialist books and articles on the topics of coaching , change management , leadership and post merger integration .

Böning is married, has four children and lives in Frankfurt am Main and Ekeberg / Schleswig .
