The Volga Shipping Company (full official designation since August 18, 1998 Russian Открытое акционерное общество Судоходная компания "Волжское пароходство" , short form: ОАО "СК" Волжское пароходство " ; German Open Aktiengesellschaft shipping companies" Volga Shipping Company " , shortly OAO SK Volga Shipping company , also OAO Wolga-flot ) is a river shipping company based in Nizhny Novgorod on the Volga ( Russia ). She went from since 1 December 1954 in the Soviet Union existing United Volga Shipping Company ( Волжское объединённое речное пароходство, ВОРП forth), which was converted into a public limited company on 24 March 1994, first as Акционерное общество открытого типа Судоходная компания "Волжское пароходство “ , or AO Volga-flot for short .
The corporation deals with the transportation of goods and passengers. In 2010 the mark of 5 million tons of transported goods was exceeded. The operational area includes the north-west of Russia, the Moscow region, the shipping routes on the Volga , Kama with the canals to the Don and the White Sea . The fleet of the Volga shipping company comprises over 250 ships. At the end of 2009 ten cargo ships of the RSD44 project with a length of almost 140 meters were ordered, which were delivered by April 2012.

The origins of the company go back to 1843, which makes it the oldest shipping company in Russia.
In 2011, the state's stake in the Volga shipping company was sold. Main shareholder is now the UCL Holding by Vladimir Lisin .
