Central Swiss Alps

The Central Swiss Alps are the Alps of the Central Switzerland and Glarus regions in the cantons of Glarus and Uri in Switzerland . They are a subgroup of the Western Alps.

According to the division of the Swiss Alpine Club , they border the Bernese and Valais Alps to the west, the Central Swiss Pre- Alps to the north , the Graubünden Alps to the east and the Ticino Alps to the south . The Central Swiss Alps are divided into the Glarus Alps , the Urner Alps and the Gotthard massif .
