Cloud tank

A cloud tank (Engl. Cloud tank ) is filled with a water container in which by means of various additives, such as liquid paints and other chemicals cloud-like effects are produced.

Depending on requirements, the development is filmed in slow motion or lapse , so that storm and storm scenes can be simulated accordingly and game scenes can be inserted using blue screen technology . This process was developed by Scott Squires ( VFX Supervisor ) in the Steven Spielberg film: Close Encounters of the Third Kind . Another film example is the film adaptation of the neverending story by Wolfgang Petersen , based on the novel by Michael Ende .
