Volodymyr Petrowytsch Kryschaniwskyj ( Ukrainian Володимир Петрович Крижанівський ; born January 24, 1940 in Vinnytsia , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian diplomat and politician. He was the first ambassador of Ukraine to Russia .

Life

Volodymyr Kryschaniwskyj studied engineering from 1958 to 1963 at the Institute of Civil Engineering in Kiev . He then worked as an engineer and later as a manager in business. On March 18, 1990, he was appointed to the Verkhovna Rada by his company as a deputy for Ukraine .

On August 29, 1991, he became the authorized representative of Ukraine in the Russian Federation and from March 1992 to September 1994 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. Subsequently, he was managing director of a company in Kiev. Since May 2012 he has been a member of the Constituent Assembly ( Програма сприяння Парламенту ). He is married to his wife Tamara and has two sons.
