Volost Žeimiai

The Wolost Žeimiai (lit. Žeimių valsčius ) was a Wolost in Central Lithuania . The center was the town of Žeimiai . The Wolost Žeimiai was built in the second half of the 19th century in the Russian Empire . In 1923 there were 5,845 inhabitants. From 1919 to 1950 the Volost belonged to the Kėdainiai district . On June 20, 1950, the Jonava district (8 districts) and Kėdainiai district (2 districts) in what was then Soviet Lithuania emerged from the former territory of the Volost .
