Meet the Mormons (dt .: Meet the Mormons ) is an American documentary from the year 2014; The director is Blair Faithful and is produced by Latter-day Saints' Church of Jesus Christ . The film documents the lives of six devout Mormons in the USA , Costa Rica and Nepal . The LDS Church donated all proceeds from the theatrical release of the film to the American Red Cross .

The film was originally planned to be shown at the Legacy Cinema in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City . However, after screenings with test audiences, LDS Church leaders decided to release the film in US cinemas first. According to Jeffrey R. Holland , the film is "not an attempt at conversion, but informative" and is an "opportunity to show who we really are". The film is produced and distributed by the LDS Church, a first for the Church. The film was shot in documentary format and will be translated into 10 languages.
American singer and actor David Archuleta sang the song "Glorious" for the film.

The film shows Jermaine Sullivan, "The Bishop" and his family. Sullivan is an African American and is a professional academic counselor for the University of Phoenix . He was the bishop of a ward in Atlanta , Georgia .
"The Coach," Ken Niumatalolo, head coach of the American football team at the United States Naval Academy .
"The Fighter", Carolina Muñoz Marin, a MMA fighter from Costa Rica . Carolina has a chance for an international breakthrough but decides against it because she and her husband fear the family could be separated.
"The humanist", Bishnu Adhikari, a man from Nepal , the graduate engineer works for an aid organization in his country.
"The candy bomber," Gail Halvorsen .
"The Missionary Mother," Dawn Armstrong, whose son serves a mission .

Meet the Mormons was released in US theaters on October 10, 2014 . All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross . In early January 2015, LDS Church began showing the film in all visitor centers and at all historical sites.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the film 11% and Metacritic gave the film 29/100.
The film has been criticized as propaganda. Critics complained that the film shows nothing of Mormon history, fundamentals and controversy.
Producer Jeff Roberts responded to this review by saying, "Most of the critics wanted the film to be controversial, but we wanted to tell stories about the people who are our base."
The film grossed $ 2,509,808 on its opening weekend, missing the top 10. By October 2015, the film was listed as the 34th successful documentary in theaters.
