Wolrad Rommel
Wolrad Rommel (* 1955 in Kassel ) is a German legal scholar. From 2005 to 2007 he was the founding president of the Heilbronn Business School .
Life
Rommel studied law and history at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . After his state examination he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . He initially worked as a research assistant at Frankfurt University. From 1990 to 1993 he worked as a legal advisor at the WIK - Scientific Institute for Infrastructure and Communication Services in Bad Honnef; he was closely involved in the first phase of the reform of the telecommunications law .
In 1993, he received a call for a professorship for Economic and Competition Law at the HTWK where he was from 1995 to 1998 Dean of the Faculty of Economics. In 1998 he switched to the private sector and worked primarily as a regulatory specialist in the telecommunications market in Eastern Europe, but also in Asia, Africa and South America. Most recently he was in the international management of T-Systems . From May 2005 to the end of 2007 he was the founding president of the Heilbronn Business School , after which he still taught there before becoming Managing Director of the Telecommunications Research Center in Vienna on September 1, 2008 .
On May 16, 2012, Rommel was elected by the Senate of the Saarland University of Applied Sciences to succeed the incumbent Rector Wolfgang Cornetz . Rommel took over the office at the beginning of 2013.
