Women's Cricket World Cup 2022

The Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 is set to be the twelfth edition of the women 's Cricket World Cup, which will be held in a one-day format over 50 overs. Originally, it was supposed to take place in New Zealand as the Women's Cricket World Cup 2021 from January 30 to February 20, 2021 , but was postponed to February and March 2022 in August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

The qualification process consisted of two stages. On the one hand, the ICC Women's Championship 2017–20 was held between eight teams between October 2017 and March 2020 , the four best-placed teams of which qualified for the World Cup. This was a change from the original plan that only three teams in the tournament would qualify. Furthermore, hosts New Zealand qualified directly.

The three losing teams, the two teams with WODI status (Bangladesh and Ireland), as well as five regional qualifiers are to play for the three remaining places in 2020 at the Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2020 in Sri Lanka .
