  • England England
  • India India
  • New Zealand New Zealand
  • Sri Lanka Sri Lanka
  • Pakistan Pakistan
  • South Africa South Africa
  • West Indies cricket team West Indies

Venues

The tournament was played in several stadiums in the Australian state of New South Wales .

format

The eight teams each played once in the preliminary round against each other team in a round robin format . There are two points for the winning team, none for the losing team. If no winner can be determined (for example due to the rain dropping out), both teams received one point each. The top three in each group qualified for the Super 6 round, in which each team played against the teams that it did not meet in the preliminary round. The points against the opponents in the preliminary round are taken along. The two group winners in the Super 6 round then played the final.
