World Forum (The Hague)

World Forum

The World Forum (previously World Forum Convention Center ) is a multifunctional hall in The Hague . The International Criminal Court for the Former Yugoslavia is in the immediate vicinity .

The hall was built as the Nederlands Congres Centrum (NCC) in 1969 according to plans by the architect Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud in the New Building style. After a change of operator in the mid-2000s, the hall was renamed. Congresses, festivals, concerts and conferences take place in the World Forum. These included the Eurovision Song Contest (1976 and 1980), North Sea Jazz Festival (1976-2005), The Hague Jazz (2006-2010), the Afghanistan Conference (2009) and concerts by A-ha , Sarah Brightman and Eric Clapton , Celine Dion , Queen and others.
