World One is the name of a skyscraper under construction in the Parel district of the Indian city of Mumbai . After its planned completion, it will be one of the highest in the world with a height of 442 meters.

The project was presented to the public in 2010. The realization did not initially seem secure, but the building site was cleared in summer 2011. The actual construction work began in October 2011. The building should be characterized by a rounded shape and facade as well as by slight recesses at different heights, on which various open spaces are to be created. The facade is characterized by its cladding with a silver tone. The planned height of the slim structure is exactly 442 meters, which is almost the same as the roof height of the Willis Tower in Chicago . 290 apartments are to be built on the 117 floors. A public viewing platform is also to open at a height of just over 300 meters. World One would be the tallest building in India by a clear margin and would be one of the tallest in the world. Furthermore, it would be the tallest residential building in the world by 2018 in New York City, the 541 meter high 217 West 57th Street .

The project developer Lodha Group failed to obtain approval for the planned height from the Indian aviation authority Airports Authority of India . Currently, the authority has limited the height to 285 m (about 76 floors). A legal dispute is pending.
