WowWee

WowWee is a manufacturer of toy robots from Hong Kong , founded in 1982 by Richard and Peter Yanofsky as research companies. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer , WowWee first produces various toys such as Power Rangers figures. WowWee was best known for the toy robot Robosapien , which was launched in 2004 and for which the Toy of the Year Award was presented in the same year . WowWee describes itself as a leader in the field of hi-tech toy robots.

Robosapien, which was sold over a million times, was followed by Robosapien V2 (2005), Roboreptile (2006), and RoboQuad (2007). In 2007, WowWee FlyTech launched Dragonfly , a remote-controlled ornithopter . Dragonfly was named one of the inventions of the year by the American news magazine Time and has resulted in many more flying toys. The successor FlyTech Bladestar is the first flying toy robot with sensor-based navigation.

In 2007 WowWee produced toys for McDonald’s Happy Meal around the world . For 2009, WowWee has announced a partnership with Evolution robotics to jointly develop and launch new toy robots.
