The Wright Bay is a small bay on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie-country . It lies between the coastline and the west side of the tongue of the Helen Glacier .
Participants in the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered them. Mawson named it after the Canadian physicist Charles Seymour Wright (1887-1975), participant in the Terra Nova Expedition (1911-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
