Athletic career

Wu Lei gained his first international experience at the 2019 Asian Championships in Doha , where he won the silver medal behind the team from Japan with the Chinese 4 x 400 meter relay with a new national record of 3: 03.55 min.

In 2019, Wu became the Chinese indoor champion in the 400-meter run.
