Wulf-Dietrich Koepke

Wulf-Dietrich Köpke (* 1952 in Düsseldorf ) is a German ethnologist .

Life

From 1971 to 1984 he studied ethnology at the Free University of Berlin . From 1973 to 1984 he was a freelancer at the Museum für Völkerkunde Berlin and Museum für Deutsche Volkskunde. From 1974 to 1989 worked as a freelance cultural worker with migrant groups and seminars on development policy / Third World. From 1985 to 1986 he completed an internship at the South Asia department of the Museum für Völkerkunde Berlin. From 1986 to 1992 he headed the Europe department of the Museum für Völkerkunde Berlin. From 1992 to 2016 he was director of the Museum für Völkerkunde Hamburg . Since 2016 he has headed the Institute for Transcultural Competence at the Hamburg Police Academy

Ethnographically he conducted research in Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Italy, India, Venezuela, Kabardino-Balkaria (Russian Federation).
