The Wyatt Island is an 8 km long and 3 km wide island off the Loubet coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 3 km south of Day Island near the middle of the Laubeuf Fjord .
The island was first measured in 1936 during the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . This gave the island the provisional name South Island ( English for South Island ). In 1948 the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a new survey. The name that is used today is named after Vice Admiral Arthur Guy Norris Wyatt (1893–1981), hydrograph of the Royal Navy from 1945 to 1950.
