The Wyeth Heights are a group of rocky peaks in the East Antarctic Coatsland . They tower up to 1,335 m high at the head of the Blaiklock Glacier and form the southeastern extension of the Otter Highlands in the west of the Shackleton Range .
They were measured in 1957 by participants in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) under the direction of British polar explorer Vivian Fuchs . This was followed by aerial photographs by the United States Navy in 1967 and further survey work by the British Antarctic Survey from 1968 to 1971 . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1972 after Robert Beals "Bob" Wyeth (* 1947), a survey geologist on Stonington Island from 1971 to 1973 who worked in 1971 in the Shackleton Range.
