X-Pensive Winos

The X-Pensive Winos were from 1988 to 1993 the band of Rolling Stones - guitarist Keith Richards , with whom he released two studio albums and one live album . The band's repertoire consisted mainly of compositions by Richards;

Richards and the band went on tour with their two studio albums . In 1991 the live album Live at the Hollywood Palladium was released , which was recorded as part of the Talk Is Cheap Tour on December 15, 1988 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles . The first studio album Talk Is Cheap was only presented live in the United States during this three-week tour, with the second album Main Offender the band also went on tour in Europe and South America . The only concert in Germany so far took place on November 29, 1992 in the Cologne sports hall in front of about 8,000 people and was broadcast on the same evening by three hours as a TV program by ARD as part of the Rockpalast . The X-Pensive Winos have not worked together since the main- offender US tour in 1993.

The name X-pensive Winos (German: "Teure [wine] drinkers") is said to have originated when the band members drank red wine from the Rothschild wineries during a break during the recording sessions for the album Talk Is Cheap .
