The Xanthus Spur is a mountain ridge around 1250 m high on Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Trojan Range it extends from Mount Priam northwest over a length of 5 km.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys in 1955. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on 1957 after the river god Xanthos , a son of Zeus from Greek mythology .
