Françoise Brion , born as Françoise Alicia Rose German de Ribon (born January 29, 1933 in Paris , France ) is a French stage and film actress .

Live and act

Françoise Brion had taken acting lessons from Pierre Dux and Raymond Girard in the early 1950s and then trained at the Actors Studio in New York. Back in Paris, the pale blonde young artist has been playing theater since 1955 and has appeared in numerous performances in such diverse capital venues as the Théâtre de l'Œuvre, the Théâtre des Variétés, the Théâtre de Paris, the Théâtre de l'Atelier, de Théâtre national populaire and the Théâtre Sarah-Bernhardt. She worked with the directors Robert Lamoureux , André Barsacq , Michael Cacoyannis , Jean Tasso and her teacher Pierre Dux, among others . Brion received her most important stage roles of the early days in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband , in Françoise Sagan's A Castle in Sweden , in Euripides ' Die Troerinnen , in Peter Weiss ' Marat / Sade and in Bertolt Brecht's Antigone and Mother Courage and Her Children . She was also a guest at the Avignon Theater Festival several times.

In parallel with her theater work, her work in film has also gained in importance since 1956. Françoise Brion, who had almost 100 roles in front of the camera in the following half a century - leading and major supporting roles, cinema and television - initially worked with key representatives of the Nouvelle Vague ( Jacques Doniol-Valcroze , Pierre Kast and Alain Robbe- Grillet ) as well as with directors of the classic entertainment film, including long-serving veterans such as Léonide Moguy , Robert Siodmak , Christian-Jaque and Bernard Borderie . Mostly she was used as an attractive, blue-eyed, blonde eye-catcher, who mostly had to act as a friend and lover of the hero such as Eddie Constantine or Lino Ventura , but also as a seductive and sometimes dangerous siren. As her film career gradually waned in the late 1970s, television also gained prominence in Brion's career, and she also stepped up her theater work again. In her later years, starting around the mid-1990s, the artist was offered a number of interesting character roles in plays as diverse as Thomas Bernhard , Edward Albee , Ingmar Bergman and Harold Pinter .

Françoise Brion was married to fellow actor Paul Guers .
