Robert Marcel Adolphe Lamoureux (born January 4, 1920 in Paris , † October 29, 2011 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) was a French actor , director , screenwriter and chansonnier .

Live and act

When war broke out in 1939, Robert Lamoureux was drafted into the French army and, after his release, worked in various professions such as a sales representative at Citroën . In addition, he was active as an artist for the first time, wrote poetry and began to compose. In 1947 Lamoureux's first own works were published. With a chanson that Lamoureux had written for Yves Montand in just one night , Robert Lamoureux made a name for himself in the music scene in Paris. As a result, he wrote songs that he performed himself. His first acting attempts were made on the radio, where he could be heard in the sketch series 'Papa, maman, la bonne et moi'. It was a moderate success. Lamoureux then appeared in classic plays such as 'La p'tite Lily', 'Ombre chère', 'La manière forte', 'Faison un rêve', 'La brune que voilà' and 'Turlututu'. At the end of the 1940s he was seen in cabarets as a stand-up comedian.

In 1950 the tall, slim actor stepped in front of the film camera for the first time. With his radio hit "Papa, maman, la bonne et moi", which he adapted for the cinema in 1954, the actor established himself as a comedian. In the everyday comedy designed by the director Jean-Paul Le Chanois , which was to be continued with "Papa, maman, ma femme et moi" in 1955, the worries and hardships, the joys and love affairs of ordinary Parisian tenement citizens were at the fore . In 1956 and 1959 Lamoureux played the master thief Arsène Lupine in two films in France at the time of the Belle Époque. In 1960 Robert Lamoureux made his debut as a film director, but immediately withdrew completely from the cinema for thirteen years and again devoted himself entirely to theater work. In the 70s Lamoureux celebrated a moderately successful comeback (especially in France itself) with mostly self-directed comedies, some of which were set in France in 1940, immediately after the defeat by the German Wehrmacht, and in which he made his own experiences as a soldier in the war year 1940. After 1977 he concentrated again on theater work and occasionally took part in television productions, especially in the 1980s.

Robert Lamoureux, Knight of the Legion of Honor since 2000 , was married to the actress Magali Vendeuil (1926–2009) for the second time .
