Xavier Breton

Xavier Breton (born November 25, 1962 in Darney ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2007 .

Breton grew up in Nancy , Mirecourt and most recently in his birthplace Darney, a village in Lorraine where his grandfather was the mayor. After graduating from high school in Épinal , he first studied law, but later political science. After completing his military service in Germany, he worked as an advisor to the mayor of Saint-Malo . Afterwards he was assistant to the prefect of the Yonne department . In 1995 he moved to Belley in the Ain department and from then on worked for several presidents of the local general council . After moving to Bourg-en-Bresse , he joined the local city council. In 2007, after Jean-Michel Bertrand's withdrawal, he ran in the first constituency of the Ain department and entered the National Assembly for the UMP . In 2012 he was re-elected.
