For the 2007/08 season he moved to the Spanish first division club CA Osasuna on a free transfer . There he received a three-year contract. On February 27, 2008, he suffered a rupture of the cruciate and inner ligaments and a meniscus damage and was therefore absent for several months.

In the second phase of the 2008/09 season he scored two goals and two assists in 13 games and played a major role in winning the championship. At the end of the loan period, in June 2009, Margairaz was definitely taken over by FC Zurich and received a contract until June 30, 2012.

In the 2012/13 season Margairaz played for FC Sion . After a dispute with the president , he had no future there after a year, despite the current contract. He stayed without a club for half a year and kept fit with another team.

On January 30, 2014, the traditional club Servette FC announced the commitment of the ex-international. He received a contract with Servette until the end of the year with an option. However, the option was not drawn at the end of the season.

He has been under contract with FC Lausanne-Sport since summer 2015, with whom he was promoted to the Super League after a year.
