Xu started internationally for the first time at the Junior World Championships 2014 in Chiesa in Valmalenco and finished 13th. She made her debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in December 2014 in Beijing , which she finished in 11th place. At the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty , she jumped to sixth place. In the 2018/19 season she came in three World Cup appearances, twice in the top ten. With third place in Lake Placid , she reached her first podium in the World Cup and at the end of the season, 11th place in the Aerials World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , she came in 16th place. In early March 2019 she finished seventh at the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk . In the following season she achieved five top ten placements, eighth place in the Aerials World Cup.
