Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is light green and hairy only cobwebs. The shiny young leaves are hairless.
  • The rounded leaves (see also the leaf shape article ) are five-lobed (rarely seven or even nine-lobed) and have a medium-deep curve. The stalk bay is lyre-shaped, open or closed. The leaf margin is serrated to a point. Compared to other grape varieties, the teeth are set tightly. The leaf surface (also called blade) is blistered and rough.
  • The conical to conical grape is medium-sized, shouldered and loose berries. The slightly elliptical berries are medium-sized and golden yellow in color.

The Xynisteri grape variety ripens around 30 days after the Gutedel and is therefore considered to ripen late for a grape variety.
