Yōhei Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 洋 平 , Satō Yōhei ; born November 22, 1972 in Miyagi Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Satō learned to play soccer on the school team at Miyagi Technical High School . He signed his first contract with Sumitomo Metal in 1991 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. When the professional league J.League was founded in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Sumitomo Metal became the Kashima Antlers . With the club he became Japanese champions in 1996 and 1998 . In 1997 he won the J.League Cup and the Kaiserpokal with the club . For the club he completed 76 first division games. In 1999 he moved to the second division Consadole Sapporo . In 2000 he was with the club master of the J2 League and rose to the J1 League . At the end of the 2002 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League. For the club he completed 135 games. In September 2003 he moved to the first division side Júbilo Iwata . In 2003 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club. In 2003 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club. In 2004 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup. For the club he completed 32 first division games. At the end of 2008 he ended his career as a football player.
