Yaşar Aydın

Yaşar Aydın (born May 22, 1971 in Artvin , Turkey ) is a Hamburg social scientist.

life and career

Yaşar Aydın came to Germany at the age of four and has lived almost continuously in Hamburg ever since. Yadın studied sociology and economics in Hamburg (2001) and Lancaster (2002). Yaşar Aydın received a scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation during his studies and doctoral studies and is a member of the Hamburg TurkeyEurope Center .

After completing his studies, he was a research assistant at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research and a lecturer at the University of Hamburg . In 2009 he received his doctorate on the subject of "Topoi of the foreign: On the analysis and criticism of a social construction" in Hamburg. From August 2009 to March 2012 he worked as a research assistant at the Hamburg World Economic Institute on a project on the subject of "Intentions to emigrate and the emigration of highly qualified people of Turkish origin from Germany to Turkey". In 2015 he worked as a lecturer at the HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU) . Most recently, he conducted research on Turkish foreign policy at the SWP Foundation for Science and Politics and is currently teaching at the Evangelical College for Social Work and Diakonia.
