Olaf Leiße

Olaf Leiße (* 1966 in Düsseldorf ) is a German political scientist and university professor .

Life

From 1987 to 1993, Leiße studied philosophy , psychology and sociology at the University of Düsseldorf and at the Free University of Berlin . From 1995 to 1997 he studied at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer . In 1998 the doctorate to Dr. phil. in political science at the Free University of Berlin with the dissertation Democracy "on European": Possibilities and limits of a supranational democracy using the example of the European Union . From 1999 to 2006 he was a research assistant under Michael Strübel at the Chair of International Relations at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt and temporarily lecturer at the University of Jena , the Erfurt University of Education and the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Gotha . In Erfurt he was in 2007 with the 2012 published magazine of the Austrian Empire Downfall: Otto Bauer and the nationality question in the Habsburg monarchy habilitation .

After his habilitation, Leiße was a private lecturer at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt, and from 2007 a substitute professor at the Chair for European Studies at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . Since 2014 he has been Professor of European Studies there with the rank of adjunct professor .
