Yael Dowker

Yael Naim Dowker (* as Yael Naim 1919 in Tel Aviv ; † January 2016 ) was an Israeli mathematician.

Dowker received his doctorate under Witold Hurewicz at Radcliffe College in 1948 ( The ergodic theorems and invariant measure ) and was a post-doctoral student at the Institute for Advanced Study in 1948/1949 . She went to England with her husband in 1951, where she was first at the University of Manchester and later a professor at Imperial College London .

She dealt with dimension theory and ergodic theory . She published with Paul Erdős .

She was married to Clifford Hugh Dowker since 1944 .

William Parry was one of her PhD students .
