Karl Stattegger

Karl Stattegger (* 1951 in Austria ) is an Austrian geologist , sedimentologist and university professor .

Life

Karl Stattegger completed his studies in geology and palaeontology in 1977 with the " Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis rei publicae " (Latin doctorate under the auspices of the Federal President ). Until 1986 he was assistant professor at the Institute for Geology and Paleontology at the University of Graz and completed his habilitation in mathematical geology in the same year. Until 1988 he worked as a lecturer at the Institute for Geology and Paleontology at the University of Graz. In 1990 he became Professor (C3) at the Institute for Geosciences at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . Since 2006 he has been a leading scientist in the Cluster of Excellence " Future Ocean " at the University of Kiel in area B5 "Sea level rise and coasts in danger".
