Yahima Ramirez

Yahima Ramirez (born October 10, 1979 in Alto Songo , Cuba ) is a Cuban-Portuguese judoka .

Ramirez is originally Cuban and was already a member of the Cuban national team. From 1998 to 2005 she completed a sports degree in Havana, which she graduated with a Licenciatura . She later went to Portugal and acquired Portuguese citizenship in 2007. From February 2006 to August 2008 she taught at the Rio Maior Sports University .

Between 2008 and 2011 she became Portuguese champion in the weight class over 70 kilograms four times in a row. In 2008 she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Lisbon in the weight class up to 78 kilograms. At the European Championships in 2009 and 2012 , she was seventh. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she was eliminated in the first round.
