Yahoo Serious (born July 27, 1953 in Hunter Valley , New South Wales , Australia ) is the stage name (and, since 1980, also the real name) of the Australian entertainer Greg Pead , who is a well-known comedian, actor and director in his home country , Is a producer and screenwriter.

Pead grew up near Newcastle and attended art college after school, but was expelled from it after a short time. At the age of 27 he adopted the stage name "Yahoo Serious" and tried to gain a foothold in the film and television market. He started his career in the 1980s with self-made documentaries. At the same time his comic and artistic skills developed, with which he quickly rose to become a television star. In 1988 Serious celebrated its biggest and so far only cinema success. As a director, producer and lead actor, he made the comedy Einstein Junior , which became the surprise box office hit of the year in Australia and other parts of the world. He then shot the comedy films Robin Hood Junior ( Reckless Kelly , 1993) and Mister Accident (2000), which, however, did not match the success of his first work. In 1996 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Newcastle (Australia), the university where he originally failed .

In 2000, Serious hit the headlines again when he launched the Yahoo! sued for damages . He lost the process because he could not prove that he had disadvantages from having identical names or that there was a risk of confusion.
