Yair House

Yair House is a villa near the Scottish village of Selkirk in the Scottish Borders Council Area . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A. It was built in 1788 for Alexander Pringle of Whytbank .

Yair House is isolated on the right bank of the Tweed, around four kilometers northwest of Selkirk. The villa is designed in the Georgian style . The elongated main building is three-story, while a wing going off from the rear west side was initially two-story, but was then raised at the level of the main building. On the west side, parts of the building were added in modern times. The masonry of Yair House consists of roughly hewn quarry stone with red natural stone details . The east-facing front protrudes in the middle. The component closes with a balustrade at eaves height .
