Yakubu Adamu (born October 4, 1981 in Kaduna ) is a retired Nigerian soccer player .

Career

Adamu played for Ranchers Bees and Heartland FC in his youth . In 2000 he moved to SG Wattenscheid 09 . He stayed there for only a year and then moved to FC St. Pauli , where he made his Bundesliga debut on August 4, 2001 against VfL Wolfsburg . After the 2002/03 season he left FC St. Pauli and played for FC Schalke 04 II and Germania Gladbeck in the following years . From 2005 to December 2008 Adamu played for Chemnitzer FC in the Regionalliga Nord and Oberliga. There, the current contract was terminated prematurely in January 2009 by mutual agreement. Adamu then moved to FSV Zwickau in summer 2009 . In the 2009/10 season he played for VfL 05 Hohenstein-Ernstthal in the Sachsen Landesliga , later for FSV Limbach and FC Sylt. After a last position at Germania Gornau, Adamu ended his career in the summer of 2015.

Adamu came to an employment for the Nigerian national soccer team in 2004 .

Others

In March 2018, Adamu hit the headlines again when he was convicted of coercion and willful assault by the Chemnitz District Court.
