The Yale Daily News (also known as YDN or Yale News) is the oldest student newspaper in the United States . It appears since 28 January 1878, is used by students of Yale University in New Haven ( Connecticut published). She reports on the university and the city of New Haven.

Frequency of publication

The newspaper appears daily from Monday to Friday during the academic year; Mondays with a detailed sports supplement, Fridays with a separate location scene on the subjects of life and art. The Yale Daily News Publishing Company also publishes the Yale Daily News Magazine and special editions before the last home game of the football season and the first home game of the Ivy League in basketball. The publisher's other print products include The Politic magazine and the Yale Daily News Insiders Guide .

Editors and reporters are mostly 1st or 2nd year students. Staff included Joseph Lieberman , William F. Buckley, Jr. , Potter Stewart , Strobe Talbott , Henry Luce, and Briton Hadden .

distribution

Until 1994, the Yale Daily News was a subscription newspaper that was delivered by mail for $ 40 a year. Since then the newspaper has been distributed free of charge.
