Strobe Talbott

Nelson Strobridge "Strobe" Talbott III. (Born April 25, 1946 in Dayton , Ohio ) is an American diplomat , politician ( Democratic Party ) and political scientist. Talbott was Vice Secretary of State of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He has been friends with Bill Clinton since they both studied at Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship . Known as a world federalist , Talbott was President of the Brookings Institution think tank in Washington, DC until October 2017

Life

In spring 2009 he was visiting scholar at the American Academy in Berlin . Also in 2009 he was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
