Yan Greub

Yan Greub (* 1972 in La Chaux-de-Fonds ) is a Swiss Romanist .

Life

Yan Greub attended schools in La Chaux-de-Fonds and studied linguistics and history at the University of Neuchâtel as well as in Strasbourg and Montpellier . In 2002 he received his doctorate in Neuchâtel with an examination of regional French. Since 2000 he has been editor of the French Etymological Dictionary at the CNRS laboratory Analyze et traitement informatique de la langue française ATILF in Nancy and since 2001 research associate of the Glossaire des patois de la Suisse romande in Neuchâtel. He was senior assistant in Neuchâtel and at the University of Lausanne and has been working again at the ATILF in Nancy since 2009.

He has been director of the French Etymological Dictionary since 2011 and also director of the Glossaire des patois de la Suisse romande since 2018 .

The Société de Linguistique Romane awarded Yan Greub the Prix ​​Dauzat in 2003 .
