Yan Hong

Yan Hong ( Chinese  阎 红 , Pinyin Yán Hóng , born October 23, 1966 in Tieling , Liaoning Province ) is a former Chinese athlete .

At the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris in 1985, she won the silver medal in the 3000-meter track. On March 16, 1985, she beat Olga Krischtop's world record by 38 seconds with a time of 44:14 minutes over 10 kilometers . In the same year Yan won on the 10-kilometer distance at the World Cup of walkers on the Isle of Man and was second over 5000 meters on the track at the Universiade in Kobe.

At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 , she won the bronze medal over 10 kilometers behind Irina Strachowa from the Soviet Union and Australian Kerry Saxby .
