Yanagawa Nobuyuki ( Japanese 柳川 信 行 , actually: Masutsuyoshi Nobuyuki ( 増 健 亘 志 ); born January 22, 1974 in Kōchi , Kōchi Prefecture ) is a Japanese sumo wrestler . He belongs to the Mihogaseki- beya .
Yanagawa Nobuyuki started sumo in elementary school. During his studies he won a university championship. In 1996 he became a professional sumo wrestler. In 1998 he rose for the first time to Jūryō wrestler. Yanagawa was the first wrestler in the Jūryō division in 2003 to lose a bout to the Tsukihiza , introduced in 2001 . In 2004 he was demoted to the Makushita Division.
