Yang Chaoguan ( Chinese  楊 潮 觀  /  杨 潮 观 , Pinyin Yáng Cháoguān ; 1710 - 1788 ), zi: Xiongdu 雄 度, hao: Wuhu 笠 湖, from Wuxi in Jiangsu , was a politician and opera writer (xìqǔ 戲曲) in the early Qing dynasty . During the Qianlong era, he served in various circles in Henan and Sichuan provinces. He was friends with the sifter Yuan Mei . He is the author of the Zaju collection Yinfengge zaju , the name of which is derived from the stage Yinfengge 吟 風 閣 of his performance in Qiongzhou 邛 州 in Sichuan and which contains various of his dramas. His pieces show the image of the bureaucrat in Chinese history. They include his thoughts on the government of the country.

"Yang Chaoguan [...] wrote a collection of thirty short zaju, mostly dealing with famous incidents from Chinese history and legend; they were published under the title Yinfengge zaju (Zaju from the Studio for Writing Poems on the Wind). "
