Yang Yuanqing
Yang Yuanqing ( Chinese 杨元庆 ; * November 12, 1964 ) has been CEO of the Lenovo Group since December 8, 2004 .
Yang Yuanqing grew up in Hefei , Anhui Province , China . His parents were surgeons who (as was common in China at the time) only earned as much as normal workers. They had planned for their son a medical profession, but he was more interested in technology and literature, graduated from Jiaotong University with a degree in computer science and graduated with a master's degree from the Chinese University of Science and Technology in 1988.
In 1989 he started working at Lenovo, a company that was founded only five years earlier and whose employees were then an average of 26 years old. He was among the first of 18 college graduates to join Lenovo.
On the list of China's richest people in 2015, Yuanqing ranked 179th with an estimated fortune of $ 1.3 billion.
